New Romantics: Darkness and Light in Australian Art

I finally got my hands on this amazing book, New Romantics: Darkness and Lightness in Australian Art. I have been waiting a year for this book to come out and I am still waiting for my own copy. Lucky for me, my supervisor lent me his copy, so I snapped a few pictures of it to share. He features quite prominently in the book along with many other great Australian contemporary artists.

The book, written by curator Simon Gregg, shows artists working with a variety of mediums to depict fleeting moments, death, beauty, decay, the sublime and the transcendental. New Romantics has plenty of text and images, separated into titled sections such as 'the grotesque', 'the glacial', and 'the void', making it a valuable book for scholars and also a proud addition to the coffee table. This book will definitely be helpful to my own research.
