i'm just trying to remember

I love objects. Analogue photographs, fresh smelling books, hand-sewn dresses, and beautiful wooden guitars. But I also am very much enjoying digital technology, be it gadgets, blogs, or something like instagram. I think instagram sums up the oscillation between nostalgia for old world aesthetics and our desire for instant communication. What do you think? Do you use it? 3. I agree with your point, very much so. But i still find it hard to accept- this whole instagram/iphone application. Yes the pictures can look amazing, and i often find myself wishing i had an instant way to make cool pictures, but i hate the fact that it is pre set, you pretty much know what you are going to get with each photo as you selected the setting. But thats digital i guess in general, which can be great, but also i find it to be boring and predictable.
I do find digital/instagram photography really great and seductive and i think there is a place for it (somewhere) but I, myself, am still quite wary of it for some reason, and i cant put my finger on it.

Another thought... wont it be funny in 10 or 20 years time when our children look at these pictures, like we did to our parents photographs, and ask why they are the way they are- but it will be a totally different answer to what out parents said.
